Voortgang Pilot Brak Grondwater
Op lange termijn zijn er meer bronnen voor drinkwater nodig. Voor de groeiende bevolking en bedrijvigheid in onze regio is voldoende drinkwater nodig van goede kwaliteit. In Scheveningen doet Dunea onderzoek naar de inzet van brak grondwater en dat loopt voorspoedig. Een update.
Sinds de start van het project in 2020 is er veel gebeurd. De projectvoorbereidingen zijn afgerond, de benodigde vergunningen zijn verkregen, er zijn twee winputten en zes monitoringsputten aangelegd, de zuiveringsinstallatie is geplaatst in de benodigde behuizing en kabels en leidingwerk zijn aangelegd.
In oktober staan de eerste proefonttrekkingen op de planning. We gaan op vijf verschillende dieptes in de bodem brak grondwater onttrekken. Hiervoor is het belangrijk dat er foutloos geschakeld kan worden tussen de verschillende onderdelen van het proces. Als die resultaten overeenkomen met de verwachtingen van de onderzoekers en met de vergunningaanvraag, dan kunnen we in januari 2022 starten met de daadwerkelijke onderzoeksfase.
Kennis delen
Het winnen en zuiveren van brak grondwater is een innovatief proces dat bijdraagt aan de leveringszekerheid van drinkwater en aan klimaatadaptatie. Het project Freshman wordt dan ook gesubsidieerd door LIFE, het subsidieprogramma voor duurzaamheidsprojecten van de Europese Unie. Kennis delen met vakgenoten in Europa en met het publiek, maakt deel uit van het onderzoek. Graag delen we deze eerste video over de aanleg van de proefinstallatie en hoe het werkt!

Progress Pilot Brackish Groundwater
In the long term, more sources of drinking water are needed. Sufficient drinking water of good quality is needed for the growing population and industry in our region. In Scheveningen, Dunea is conducting research into the use of brackish groundwater and that is progressing well. An update.
A lot has happened since the start of the project in 2020. The project preparations have been completed, the necessary permits have been obtained, two extraction wells and six monitoring wells have been constructed, the treatment plant has been placed in the required housing and cables and piping have been laid.
The first trial extractions are planned for October. We will be extracting brackish groundwater at five different depths in the soil. For this it is important that it is possible to switch between the components of the process without errors. If these results match the expectations of the researchers and the permit application, we can start the actual research phase in January 2022.
Sharing knowledge
The extraction and purification of brackish groundwater is an innovative process that contributes to the security of supply of drinking water and to climate adaptation. The Freshman project is therefore subsidized by LIFE, the subsidy program for sustainability projects of the European Union. Sharing knowledge with colleagues in Europe and with the public is part of the research. We would like to share this first video about the construction of the pilot installation and how it works!
